Social Bite's Festival of Kindness

With a mission of providing 250,000 meals and essential items to homeless and vulnerable people.

With the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic, homeless and vulnerable people need our help this Christmas more than ever. Please help Social Bite to create a movement of kindness and spread festive goodwill to those who need it most all over the UK.

We are aiming to provide accommodation, support and 250,000 food and essentials packs to homeless people over winter. This will bring our distribution of emergency food packs and essential items to over 1 million since the pandemic began.

Christmas Kindness in Action

Christmas Dinners and Food Provision
On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Social Bite will be opening our cafes and other venues to provide a warm Christmas dinner and some loving company for those who need it. This year, we will also be distributing food packs and hot meals to tens of thousands of people in food poverty through a network of charity partners all over the UK.

Gifts and Essential Items
We will be working with a network of charities and community groups to distribute tens of thousands of Christmas gifts and essential items. These will range from children’s toys for families in poverty, to warm clothes for homeless people, to mobile phones and laptops to get people connected.

Emergency Shelter and Support
This winter we’re teaming up with Bethany Christian Trust and Glasgow City Mission to help fund emergency shelter and support for people sleeping rough in Edinburgh and Glasgow. In partnership with local and national government, we are supporting an effort to provide accommodation in hotels. This will help people sleeping rough to get warm shelter over the winter period in a hotel room, where social distancing can be maintained.

We will also be working to ensure that people supported in hotels over winter are linked into our Housing First programme, where they can get a longterm tenancy with continued support

Put a gift under the Tree of Kindness

This year, we will be installing two Trees of Kindness in the city centres of Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We are asking you to donate a present to someone who is homeless and vulnerable and place it under the tree. We will then distribute tens of thousands of gifts throughout Scotland to homeless people, families, and children in poverty.
